TWO-LINE FILLER

n.a relatively unimportant piece of writing taking up two lines, as in a newspaper column. Filler is material or copy that is used merely to "fill" an otherwise empty space or gap in a page of a newspaper or similar publication, especially a brief fact or item of secondary importance.
