STAFF SECTION OFFICER

(Qual Div) purpose: to help Ron make real staff members. The person on the post of Staff Section Officer has total authority over who will be processed and what they will be processed on, who will be trained and what they will be trained on, and has authority over all persons who are engaged on those duties or at the time they are engaged on those duties. The authority of the Staff Section Officer over who will get processed and what he will get processed on is absolute. The authority of the Staff Section Officer on who will be trained and what they will be trained on is absolute. In a very small org the Staff Section Officer will also hold from above the Staff Training Officer and the Staff D of P. But where this becomes onerous, the other two posts should be filled. The state of in-tech delivery of interns becomes the concern of the Staff Section Officer since most of the processing of staff is done by interns. (HCO PL 22 May 76) Abbr. SSO.

The head of Dept 14 (Dept of Personnel Enhancement). The training and auditing of staff comes under the Staff Section Officer (SSO). The product of his department is fully qualified and trained staff members in the org.
