1. an action or situation in which an individual is involved contrary to the ideals and best interests of his group. An act or situation or relationship contrary to the ethics standards, codes or ideals of the group or other members of the group. An act of omission or commission by an individual that could or has reduced the general effectiveness of a group or its other members. An individual act of omission or commission which impedes the general well-being of a group or impedes it in achieving its goals. Thus, saying that a person is "out-ethics" means the person's concept of his own ethics is not adequate to his survival. (2) (as regards a group) an action or situation in which an individual is involved which is contrary to the ideals and best interests of his group. An act of omission or commission by an individual that could or has reduced the general effectiveness of a group or its other members.
