an American Indian boy who was one of the main characters in the Western comic strip "Red Ryder." American artist Fred Harman (1902-1982) created the strip in 1938 and within ten years it had an estimated worldwide distribution in 750 newspapers. The stories told of Little Beaver and his companion, the cowboy Red Ryder, who adopted him, traveling through the western United States in pursuit of law and order. They appeared in a television series, in the movies and were heard on radio.
