one of the oldest of
English circuses, founded in the 1800s by Robert Fossett (?-1874). The circus grew from a couple of performing
birds and a fortunetelling pony into a full circus. It has been carried on as a family
operation by succeeding generations of Fossetts ever since. There are two other Fossett Circuses, one in
England and one in Ireland, both
run by relatives of the original Fossett family.
