handling communications,
communication equipment and the
transmission of
information. They
use a variety of signaling apparatus, including
special flags, flashing
lights, telephones, radio, etc., and are able to
code and decode messages. Signalmen also
act as messengers to
deliver communications and ensure they are properly handled and filed.
