abbreviation for reliable item. In GPM auditing procedures, a reliable item is a black mass with a significance in it which is dominated by a goal and which is part of a GPM. It can be used to obtain further items. Called a "reliable item" because it has been proven out as a n actual GPM item. See also GPM and goal in this glossary.
