In ca. 387 b.c., he founded a school of philosophy known as the Academy which became the first university known in history.Greek philosopher (437?@347 B.C.). In 407 B.C. he became a pupil and friend of Socrates. He founded, around 387 B.C., near Athens, the most influential school of the ancient world, the Academy, where he taught until his death.
