n.a
type of paper used when making
duplicate copies of a pencil written
work. Such paper is treated on one side with a darkcolored, waxy preparation, such as carbon or other material. It is placed between two sheets of plain paper and when
pressure is applied to the top
sheet in writing, the preparation transfers to the bottom
sheet making a
duplicate copy of the original. Carbon paper is used in duplicating written (with
pen or pencil) and typed
materials and comes in several colors, black being used universally and blue
prevailing for pencil carbon
work.
