1. the Medical Officer makes sure that standard hygiene rules are followed, so that the health of the crew stays high. He handles ill people quickly using isolation methods where necessary to contain any spread of illness through a crew. He alone dispenses medicine. The Medical Officer must have a basic training in first aid prior to going on post of the Medical Officer. He must remain single hatted. He is also a vital terminal on the Fitness Board as he can spot the chronically ill and malingerers who are non producers, also the PTS and those with out tech.
