INTERVIEW

a face-to-face meeting between an interviewer and another person such as an employee, job applicant, consumer, etc. . during which the interviewer asks the person questions designed to accomplish the purpose of the interview. They may be questions designed to show up a job applicant's suitability, discover a consumer's wants, isolate an employee's attitude toward his job, etc.
