INDENTURE

1. a contract binding a person to work or serve another for a certain time such as an apprenticeship training agreement. 2. a written agreement or contract which originally was in duplicate with both copies having identically notched or indented edges for easy recognition of authenticity. 3. a contract or agreement between two or more people which lays down reciprocal obligations and privileges such as a lease or rental agreement.
