HOT SHOPPE

HOT SHOPPE
ScnTUEU
one of a chain of American restaurants, founded in the late 1920s in Washington, DC. Starting as a root beer stand, the company began to sell hot Mexican food to boost profits (as their soft drinks did not sell well in winter), and soon became Hot Shoppes, Incorporated. By the 1960s the restaurant had expanded to a chain of more than forty Hot Shoppes.
