a reference to the South Lodge at Saint Hill. The South Lodge is a small house to the left of one of the entrances to the Saint Hill property where one enters from the road. There are large wrought-iron gates across the driveway by the South Lodge. A lodge is a house or cottage occupied generally by a caretaker, gardener, etc., and placed in the grounds of a mansion or at the entrance to a park, or the like.
