GAS, COOK(ING) WITH

GAS, COOK(ING) WITH
ScnTUEU
to make swift progress or do extremely well in some activity; to succeed; also to be on the right track. This phrase alludes to gas stoves in the early 1900s which began to replace wood-burning stoves. Gas stoves were much quicker to cook on, as the wood-burning stoves could not be used until the wood (fuel) was found, inserted into the stove, lighted and produced sufficient heat.
