term forensic means connected with or used in such
courts or proceedings. Forensic medicine's most frequent
use is in clarifying doubtful questions in the
investigation of sudden deaths or deaths from unnatural causes, such as drowning, strangulation,
shooting and poisoning. The
knowledge of medicine is used to
establish the
cause of such deaths and
determine if they were due to accident,
suicide or
