Used figuratively in this lecture.1. a coined term referring to a light and rapid movement, or succession of such movements. Flick means to move with a jerk and flack means to move or shake intermittently. 2. a reference to a stick used in lacrosse, a game originated by Indians of North America, in which two 10-member teams attempt to send a small ball into each other's netted goal. Each player is equipped with a stick (or crosse) at the end of which is a netted pocket for throwing, catching or carrying the ball.
