there is an
old story about the
Rough Riders, a
regiment in the Spanish-
American War. Their most famous exploit was the taking of San Juan Hill (
Cuba). The orders of the
day were
posted and stated explicitly that they were to "
jump off' from El Canay at five o'
clock the
following morning and were to take San Juan Hill. The
Rough Riders awoke at 4:30 A.M. to discover that one small thing had been omitted from their plans: they had, as yet, to take El Canay.
