the receipt-point of an idea, particle or mass. Therefore, the person who catches a baseball thrown at him is being an effect. At that moment he's an effect, the person who threw the baseball is cause. We've more or less assumed that, and the student is always asked to take the effect-point and assume that he is studying comprehensible, worthwhile material.
