DECK, DEAL OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE
ScnTUEU
to do something deceptively; to swindle or cheat. This term comes from the act of cheating in a game of cards where the dealer covertly controls the game by giving a player (or players) cards from the bottom of the deck where they have been placed by him knowing they will be detrimental to the other player(s). Cards are normally dealt from the top of the deck and are, at that time, unknown to the dealer and other players.
