former name of the Daily World, a daily newspaper published in New York City, New York, USA, and circulated throughout the United States. First published in 1924 the paper served as the "semi-official" voice of the Communist Party of the United States. The paper later changed its name to reach a broader public. A similar Daily Worker was introduced into the United Kingdom and which later changed its name to the Morning Star for a similar purpose as the American version.
