comline) a
communications line. This does not
refer to physical
equipment but to the passage of ideas between two
points. A
flow of ideas, in two directions, on paper, establishes a
comline. A 'verbal
exchange of ideas can be considered a
comline only when the discussion is summarized on paper and then
sent over the
line as a confirmation.
