BLUE PAINT

BLUE PAINT
ScnTUEU
a reference to an ancient practice of the Celts inhabiting Great Britain whereby they would paint their faces and bodies with a blue dye made from a plant called woad. The dye was intended to give the men a more formidable and terrifying aspect in battle. Celtic women would also paint their nude bodies with the dye before taking part in certain religious rites.
