a reference to Polish-born Americanphilosopher and teacher George Adamski (1891-1965). In 1953, Adamski and Desmond Leslie (1921-?, Irish student of supernaturalphenomena) co-authored Flying Saucers Have Landed, a controversial book on unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Adamski was a supposed UFO contactee and became well-known for his accounts of personal encounters with space people. On one occasion, Adamski was reportedly taking pictures of a flying saucer and a spaceman took one of his photographic plates. It was returned a few weeks later but the original picture had been replaced with strange writing that was thought to be a brieftechnicalaccount of the flying saucer and its method of propulsion.
